Chan Che Ting 陳子亭教授

Professor CHAN Che Ting is Associate Vice-President for Research & Development (Research), Daniel C K Yu Professor of Science and Chair Professor in the Department of Physics at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He is also serving as the Director of the Research Office of HKUST. Professor Chan is an expert in the field of computational physics. He has been elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society (1996), Physical Society of Hong Kong (2018) and member of the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences (2021). He has received a number of awards, including the Achievement in Asia Award by the Overseas Chinese Physics Association in 2000 and Brillouin Medal (co-recipient) in 2013.

He is currently working on the theory of nano-materials, photonic crystals, meta-materials, plasmonics.
