Cheung Kit 張傑

  • Scholarship in 2011 at Imperial College London

Cheung Kit is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Computing and Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London, under supervision of Prof. Wayne Luk and Dr. Simon Schultz. He obtained his B.Eng.(Hons) degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in Computer Engineering in 2010. His research focus is reconfigurable computing and computational neuroscience.

Currently

Currently he is developing a customized computing platform for large-scale simulation of spiking neurons using multiple FPGAs, optimized for the sparse spiking activity and locality of synaptic connectivity. He is also developing a computational model that incorporates detailed anatomical and functional description of primary visual cortex (V1) of mouse into a working model, which allows researchers to carry out in silico experiments to investigate relationship between its structure and function.
