Clement Chun Lam Chan

  • Croucher Cambridge International Scholarship in 2017 at University of Cambridge

In 2017, Clement completed a BA and a MSci at the University of Cambridge in Natural Sciences (Chemistry). With the support of the Croucher Foundation, he will start his PhD into bio-inspired photonics under the supervision of Dr. Silvia Vignolini at the Melville Laboratory in Cambridge. His doctoral studies will follow on from work he completed as a masters student in the Vignolini group, specifically the development of functional materials from hydroxypropyl cellulose, a renewable and environmentally friendly material. While much of his undergraduate studies focused on chemistry and organic chemistry in particular, Clement is eager to acquire skills and techniques from other scientific disciplines, and look forward towards applying them to a multi-disciplinary research project.
