Lau Chor Yue Victor 劉楚儒

A Chemist by training, an entrepreneur by nature. Started a couple of companies/factories before and now works in a technology transfer professional.

Dr. Lau received his BSc degree in Chemistry with first-class honors from The University of Hong Kong in 1993. He continued his Ph.D. degrees at the same university (under the supervision of Professor Vivian Yam).  His Ph.D. worked on the photophysical and photochemical properties of the Rhenium (I) system. After a few years in industrial research, he continued postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley (2001-2002, material sciences) with Professor Jeffrey R. Long. He was also a recipient of the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Scholarship (1994-1995).



Currently

Over 20 years in the semiconductor industry (as staff and as founder), Dr. Lau has moved back to academic and shared his industrial experience with faculty and students.

Currently, Dr. Lau is the Associate Director of the Knowledge Transfer Office at the City University of Hong Kong and a visiting professor at Jimei University, Fujian.
