Woo's research interest includes emerging infectious diseases, novel microbes discovery and microbial genomics.
The HKU Microbiology laboratory uses a wide range of molecular techniques, immunological techniques and bioinformatics tools to discover and characterise emerging pathogens and novel causes of unexplained infectious disease syndromes.
