Violet Lo 盧雪芬

Dr Violet Lo founds Inclusive Business Lab and Inclusive Business Foundation, and believes that transforming capitalism and leadership development as well as technology innovation and big data science are keys to tackle rich-poor gap and systemic poverty issues.

Partnering with multinational e-commerce and working across different sectors glocally, the Lab is looking to build a diversified “economy for everyone” ecosystem. In 2016, after two years working in partnership with the local governments and schools in China, the Global Inclusive Leadership Next Gen Program was officially launched, with the setting-up of the first Global Inclusive Leadership Centre in China.

Violet received her PhD degree in Mathematics in 1998 from the University of Cambridge, where she was a Croucher Foundation Scholar. In 1997, she took up a lectureship teaching Stochastic Process and Multivariate Statistics for MSc program at UMIST. From 1998 to 2011, she worked for investment banks in London, New York and Hong Kong, including Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, Barclays Capital and Tokyo-Mitsubishi International, specializing in strategic investments, portfolio allocation and capital management for financial institutions, insurance companies, pension funds and superannuation in UK, Europe, USA and Pan-Asia (China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Australia).

She has served as an advisor and board director for a micro-finance company in China, Guest Professor at Beijing Normal University School of Social Development and Public Policy, and currently also serves as an Honorary Principal for Jiangsu Province Dagang High School in China.
