Ir Dr Sam Wong graduated with a B.Sc. (first class honours) in Civil Engineering from Glasgow University, UK in 1981. He went on to carry out research into the shear strength behaviour of unsaturated soils leading to a Ph.D. in geotechnical engineering in the same University.
Currently
Ir. Dr. Sam Wong began his professional career by joining the Civil Engineering Services Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government in 1985. He has been working in Highways Department since 1986. He was responsible for planning, design and construction of a number of mega-sized projects including the North Lantau Expressway, Kwai Chung Viaduct and Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge (Hong Kong Section). He is currently the Deputy Project Manager II in Highways Department.
