  • Senior Research Fellowship in 2006 at Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Professor Xu Youlin is head of the Department of Civil and Structural Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is widely recognised internationally for his contributions in wind engineering, earthquake engineering, structural vibration control and structural health monitoring. His pioneering work on tuned liquid column dampers, coupling control of adjacent buildings, bridge aerodynamics, wind-vehicle-bridge systems, wind-rain-induced cable vibration and control, and stochastic damage detection has found important applications in the analysis, design and construction of tall buildings and long span cable-supported bridges.
