Kung Wai Chee Annie

Professor Annie Kung is a specialist in Internal Medicine, with special interest in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

Kung graduated from the University of Hong Kong with distinctions. She was formerly a Chair Professor at the Department of Medicine and Chairman of the Clinical Trial Centre of LKS Faculty of Medicine of The University of Hong Kong. She had an honorary appointment as Honorary Professor of Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences, Guangzhou, China. She was also the Director of the Osteoporosis Centre at Queen Mary Hospital. She is now Honorary Clinical Professor of The University of Hong Kong and Honorary Consultant to Queen Mary Hospital.

Kung was a past-president of Hong Kong Society of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Reproduction and the Founding President of The Osteoporosis Society of Hong Kong. Her international associations include the International Society for Clinical Densitometry (board member and chairman of the Asia-Pacific Panel); Endocrine Society, USA (member); Endocrine Society of Australia (member); American Diabetes Association (member); American Thyroid Association (Publication Committee member); World Health Organization on Thyroid Disease and Iodine Deficiency in Pregnancy and Lactation Technical Group, International Andrology Society (member). She is currently a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the International Osteoporosis Foundation. She was awarded the Otsuka Prize at the International Thyroid Congress in 2000 and the Global Leadership Award by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry in 2010. Dr Kung has published over 180 papers in international journals.
