Chau's research is about applying smart computing technology to create more sustainable smart cities. In particular, he focuses on the aspects of efficient algorithms, optimization techniques and Internet-of-things as to develop computationally intelligent solutions for diverse applications of smart cities, such as smart grid, smart buildings, intelligent vehicles and transportation.
