  • Senior Research Fellowship in 2005 at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Professor Hannah Xue Hong received her PhD degree from the University of Toronto.  Her group focuses on genomics, bioinformatics and evolutionary biology to decipher the mechanisms of human complex disorders. The group is also interested in translational research on novel therapeutics and diagnostics.  She has contributed significantly to the field in the molecular structure of the receptors, as well as natural product-centred pharmacology of the receptors.

Currently

Most recently, Professor Xue's group has discovered an association between a gene of the receptors and schizophrenia, a debilitating mental illness that affects one percent of the world’s population.
