Chow Yuk Tak

  • Scholarship in 1982 at University of Heriot-Watt

Dr Chow completed his undergraduate studies at Herriot-Watt University, graduating with a first class Bachelor of Science degree in applied physics in 1982.  After postgraduate studies at the University of St Andrews, Dr Chow received a Croucher scholarship and returned to Heriot-Watt University as a doctoral student.  He was awarded a PhD degree in 1988.

Currently

Dr Chow is an associate professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering of the City University of Hong Kong.  His research interests include integrated waveguides for telecommunications and sensors, nonlinear effects in the waveguides and fibers, and rare-earth doped waveguide lasers and diode pumped solid state lasers.
