Kam Hong Shum

  • Scholarship in 1992 at University of Cambridge

Dr Shum received his PhD in Computer Science from the Computer Laboratory of the University of Cambridge in 1996 with the support of the Croucher Foundation of Hong Kong. Since then he has been working  in both the academia and the IT industry. He is a former faculty member of the National University of Singapore and Singapore Management University. His experience in the industry includes CTO and Technical Director positions in IT companies and startups, specializing in the areas of security, e-Business and software engineering. He had designed and implemented a wide variety of e-payment and e-business solutions for banks, international payment institutions and commercial organizations involving the innovative use of cryptosystems, web and mobile technology. 


He is the Director, Applied Cryptosystems, Security and Data Sciences, Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology (ASTRI).
