Lee Shing Yip

  • Fellowship in 1988 at University College of North Wales

Professor Lee completed his PhD at The University of Hong Kong on the ecology and management of the Mai Po Marshes in 1988, supported by the first John Swire Scholarship in Wetland Ecology. A Croucher Fellowship funded his post-doctoral research at the School of Ocean Sciences, University of Wales, at Menai Bridge, Bangor. He worked for 8 years at the Departments of Zoology/Ecology & Biodiversity at The University of Hong Kong before moving to Griffith University on beautiful Gold Coast, Australia, A Professor in the School of Environment and Deputy Director of the 140-member Australian Rivers Institute. 

In 2017, Professor Lee returned to Hong Kong and is now a Professor and Director of Simon F S Li Marine Science Laboratory, School of Life Sciences, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
