- Fellowship in 2006 at Yale University
Dr. Shirley M.H. Sy obtained her B.Sc (Biochemistry) in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2000. She completed her Ph.D. (Medical Sciences) in the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2005. Dr. Sy joined the Department of Therapeutic Radiology at Yale University (CT, USA) as postdoctoral research fellow (2006-2009) where she developed an interest in DNA repair mechanisms in mammalian cells. In 2010, Dr. Sy returned to Hong Kong and continue her scientific research at the University of Hong Kong.
Currently
Dr Sy is now leading research projects focusing on i) DNA damage and repair; and ii) DNA replication in hepatocarcinogenesis as principal investigator (HMRF).
