- Non-Clinical Assistant Professorship in 2017 at University of Hong Kong
Dr Sanyal is an Associate Professor at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, University of Oxford with a visiting appointment at the School of Public Health, University of Hong Kong. She completed her PhD from Cornell University as part of the Cornell-Rockefeller-Sloan Kettering Tri-institutional program in Chemical Biology. She did her post-doctoral training with Prof Hidde Ploegh at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Her research is centred on identification and characterization of host factors that are crucial for virus pathogenesis. She uses functional proteomics to screen for those that are regulated by post-translational modifications to gain insights not only into viral exploitation of cellular pathways, but also on fundamental host cell biology.
