Since 2004, his team has a number of influential papers on the natural history and treatment of peritoneal dialysis related infections. On behalf of the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis, he is responsible for the preparation of the latest guidelines on the treatment and prevention of peritoneal dialysis related infections, which were published in 2011. He received the John Maher Award from the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis in 2012 as recognition of his work in this area.
