Tung Sang Ng 吳冬生

  • Senior Research Fellowship in 1999 at University of Hong Kong

Professor NG Tung Sang holds the Chair of Electronic Engineering at The University of Hong Kong. He was Head of EEE Department (2001-2003) and Dean of Engineering (2003-2007). Professor Ng is distinguished for his contribution in signal processing techniques in spread spectrum communication systems. He is one of the leading experts in wireless communications, particularly in CDMA and the 3G/4G mobile systems. He pioneered the idea of adjusting the pulse shape of the despreading sequence at the receiver to reduce the interference from other users and to improve different aspects of receiver performance which in turn lead to increase in the system capacity of a mobile communications system. His current research is focussed on MIMO and OFDM systems. (1999/2000)

Currently

Recently Professor NG's research focuses are on various aspects of OFDMA, multiple antenna systems, relays, and synchronization problems, all are key technologies for 4G and future wireless systems.
