  • Senior Research Fellowship in 2018 at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
  • Senior Research Fellowship in 2003 at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Professor Zhang Mingjie is a structural biologist who has made numerous contributions to the elucidation of structural and regulatory properties of neuronal signaling proteins.  Professor Zhang graduated with BSc degree from Fudan University, Shanghai and a PhD degree from the University of Calgary.

Currently

Professor Zhang works on the molecular mechanisms governing synaptic signal transduction, the dynamic regulation of synaptic complex assemblies, and the trafficking of proteins involved in synaptic signalling. He uses a combination of NMR spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology approaches. The second focus of his work is elucidate the molecular basis of protein complexes regulating cell polarity establishment and maintenance.
